This project explores what would happen if London became an independent State post-Brexit. Through speculating what the future of London could be, a hypothesised State is imagined, with supporting artefacts pinpointing the narrative.

A Greater London State passport is issued. It must be carried by London citizens on all journeys to the UK, including train journeys.


The newspaper front covers chronicle the key points in the narrative of the Greater London State. The supporting articles, that I wrote, detail imagined life in the newly independent State.


The flag of the Greater London State, combines elements of the Greater London Council flag and the EU flag. The golden circle echoes the European stars, as well as the M25; Greater London State’s border.


The London Euro, issued in an emergency, and printed on Government risograph machines, is quickly replaced by the State, with a new cashless system. The design on each note reflects the value it represents.
